GPI/Remote Connections
The GPI /Remote Input allows the Play, Record, Stop, Fast Forward and Rewind functions
to be operated from contact closures or remote pushbutton switches. The functions of the inputs can be reassigned
to other preset configurations as shown below to allow remote triggering of Hotkeys and the Pause function. There
are also Tally Outputs to light indicators when the corresponding function is activated.
GPI Input Assignment Options
The GPI Inputs can be assigned in five configurations (requires software
version 2.0 or greater). The default is FF, REW, STOP, REC. Play remains Play in all configurations. The second
option is PAUSE, REW, STOP, REC which changes the FF input to activate Pause. This can be valuable to allow consecutive
recordings in the same file without editing or insert recording. The third option is HK-1, HK-2, REC, STOP. The
fourth option is HOT-KEYS 1-3, STOP. The fifth option is Hot-Keys 1, 2, 3, 4.
Tally Outputs
The Tally outputs follow the functions of the reassigned inputs, for instance
in PAUSE,REW,STOP,REC the FF tally becomes a Pause tally. When assigned to Hot Keys the tallies activate when the
associated Hot Key plays, so the FF tally would become Hot Key 1, the REW tally Hot Key 2, the Record tally Hot
Key 3 and the Stop tally Hot Key 4.

Wiring
Remote functions are activated by a switch contact from the corresponding
GPI Input connection to the Common connection.
The tally outputs can be wired to indicator lights to show that a function is
active. The lamp is controlled by an output on the same connector. For convenience, +12 volts is also provided
on the connector. This may be wired through a lamp, and then back to an appropriate pin on the connector. LEDs
can also be used if a 470W to 910W 1/4-watt resistor is used in series with the LED.
The diagram below shows a typical connection for the Play switch, along with the
connections for a Play Tally output:

The connector is a 15-pin "D" connector supplying the following signals:
