Westlake Village, CA (June 14, 2007) When it comes to running the show for WRNN TV DT48, 360 Systems Image Servers handle it all – from master control to news to loops, animation and back-up.

“The Image Server’s performance at this price point is phenomenal, ” says Carl Peters, WRNN Chief Engineer. “These are excellent servers for any master control environment that uses automation.” He uses two Image Servers for master control - one is the primary server used for inserting spots and play-out that runs 24/7, and the other is a back-up.

Two Image Server MAXX units run WRNN’s news operation, each one handling two channels of SDI video. “Together this gives me the ability to cue up four different video files and have them ready at all times,” says Peters. Another Image Server handles loops and animations and Peters keeps three Image Servers on the shelf for back-up and redundancy. The New York-based station distributes five hours of live programming per day, then runs commercials, infomercials and PSA’s over cable and satellite networks, as well as broadcasts digital content. The regional news network is seen in more than 5 million cable homes — including all five boroughs of New York City.

Peters has been using 360 Systems products a number of years and has every confidence in the company. “Their customer service is unsurpassed,” Peters remarks. “No one in the industry has bent over backwards like 360 Systems has. If I need something, they are very proactive. The warranty is great – I can get a new part, no questions asked. That’s phenomenal with this type of equipment. It gives me peace of mind knowing someone has my back.”

He says that to get six channels of broadcast quality video for under $50,000 is incredible, especially given that higher end servers offering only 2 channels have a price tag of up to $150,000. For him, the Image Server’s quality and cost is right on the money.

First introduced in 2003, the Image Server product line is now the best-selling video server in its class, with more than 2,000 units in service around the world. The Image Servers offer broadcasters and professional A/V users advanced feature sets, flexibility, and easy integration at a uniquely affordable price point. The family of Image Servers has been certified to work with over 27 different automation and remote control vendors, as well as the most popular non-linear editing devices on the market.
