Four High Definition Channels

The 2420-EX can play four HD video streams at once, or it can record two and play two others—and simultaneously ingest content via Ethernet. It’s also a graphics store with linked key-and-fill capability. Standard features include HD-SDI video I/O with frame sync, so it can handle wild sources like tape, cameras and satellite feeds. Audio formats include embedded audio, and options for AES/EBU or balanced +4 analog.

JPEG 2000 Quality Imaging

When image quality has to be high and cost manageable, JPEG 2000 is a first choice. Its wavelet-based coding is a leading format for new cameras and production, with an I-frame structure that makes editing easy. JPEG 2000 is a growing standard for sports, and the sole format in digital cinema. 360 Systems offers JPEG-2000 at bandwidths to suit every level of image quality.

Managing Today’s Workflows

The 2420-EX supports file-based work-flow over Gigabit Ethernet, using affordable, real-time transcoding from Ipera and Telestream. It’s file compatible with Grass Valley’s Edius® NLE, with Infinity JPEG 2000 MXF. The 2420-EX is well suited as a play-to-air server, as a cache for satellite ingest, a graphics store, and in remote trucks for sports. It operates with VDCP automation and Odetics controllers.

Smooth Integration with Leading Broadcast Equipment

360 Systems’ servers are on air with every major automation system. Choose from market leaders like Crispin, Harris, Nverzion and Sundance. Overseas, it’s Ibis, Pebble Beach ProBel, Ninsight, Hardata, Aveco, and more. So pick your system with confidence;

MAXX-2420-EX will work exactly as you expect.

The MAXX-2420-EX also plays video or graphics in perfect sync, and is plug-and-play compatible with commands from Ross and Echolab video switchers.

Sports/News/Entertainment

Precise slow-motion, forward and reverse, is a strong point with the 2420-EX—perfect for analyzing and replaying sports events. Now it’s possible to capture a segment, trim and review at any speed. The 2420-EX works with most desktop slow-mo controllers.

Instant replay for sports, entertainment, and news is available now at low cost. The 2420-EX works seamlessly with all popular controllers, and even accepts 12 GPI commands from switchers or push-button panels.

A Modern Design for Fault Tolerance

Every part of a 360 Systems server has been designed for reliability. The 16-Terabyte storage array incorporates fault tolerant RAID technology, which spreads content across all drives for a high level of security. The loss of a drive has minimal effect on the server’s performance. We use only server-grade drives, providing 300 hours of program storage and near-lossless image quality.

An optional redundant power supply offers an added layer of protection, and is easily replaced from the back. Quiet, forced-air cooling uses conservatively rated fans, and a sophisticated alarm system reports any event needing attention.
